Blinding
A Sweet Bloodstream production. Created, directed, compiled by Steve Sanguedolce. With: Ryan Knighton, Jackie O'Keefe, Jamie Watson, Randall Cruz, Anna Myszkowski.Adventuresome docu "Blinding" pairs dental histories from three Toronto citizens who've experienced extreme changes in perception -Body leading to literal blindness, others figurative because of harsh police and military encounters -- with expressionistic pictures superbly hands-colored available-processed 16mm. Always interesting, especially visually, the pic's ultimate point and impact are a little fuzzy. But experimental filmmaker Steve Sanguedolce's feature should attract cinematheques along with other avenues available to accessibly avant-garde fare. Subjects are Jackie O'Keefe, a metropolitan beat cop now-upon the market Canadian military pilot Jamie Watson and author Ryan Knighton, who lost his sight in their adult years while offering probably the most intellectualized perspective on his momentous existence change. He's considered some interesting ideas about how exactly the planet narrows for that aesthetically impaired, about the disabled like a "fake class" of arranged citizenry, and also the advantages and disadvantages of associations using the sighted. "Blindness is in lots of ways quite boring," he notes without apology. Another twosubjects, by comparison, knowingly joined into harmful professions, and experienced distressing effects from seeing disturbing occasions. O'Keefe has trouble trembling images from the crimes she worked with, just like a child pornography situation or perhaps a baby abandoned in freezing weather. "Whatever you see all day long lengthy are people at their worst," she states. The encounters have remaining here having a distrust of humanity which has poisoned her personal associations. Watson, now an industrial pilot, is really a confessed adrenaline junkie who tied to military service for 12 years. However the stress that brought many friends to drug abuse, panic attacks as well as suicide did not leave him untouched, particularly after he observed massacres in Rwanda. Instead of as being a straight downer, the docu indicates these encounters as demos of human adaptability under unforeseen, challenging conditions. But unlike an identical multiple existence-testimony exercise for example Jessica Yu's "Protagonist," "Blinding" does not really weave its threads together in ways that points toward a coherent unifying idea. Still, this mixture of archival materials from various sources (homemovies, surveillance and stock footage) and dialogue-free staged vignettes (stars portray all principals, save the onscreen Watson) could be intriguing even without Sanguedolce's heavily labored visual fillips. Beyond color which has a solarized affect, images are scratched, streaked and blotted. His seem design includes an (uncredited) electronic score.Camera (color, 16mm-to-HD), Sanguedolce additional camera, Jan Bird, Mike Holboom, Jeffrey Paull editors Sanguedolce, Paull seem, Sanguedolce. Juliette Lewis Finds Blood Or Water
For director Justin MolotnikovScottish director Justin Molotnikov has rounded up the cast for his follow-up to 2009's Crying with Laughter. He's locked in Juliette Lewis, Stephen McCole, Kate Dickie, Gary Lewis and Greta Scacchi for modern noir Blood or Water. There's precious little out there about the plot right now, aside from one tiny nugget that talks about its noirish nature and a brief mention of "unwitting incest. " Which sounds almost like a BBFC caution phrase than anything else. Despite that, Lewis seems enthused to be taking part: "I am excited by Justin Molotnikov's unconventional, completely organic approach to storytelling and filmmaking, she said in a statement picked up by The Hollywood Reporter. He creates one of a kind, totally engrossing stories with characters that jump off the screen. Molotnikov will shoot early next year in Scotland. Lewis was last seen in Due Date, and has the likes of Hick, Foreverland and Open Road coming up on her release schedule. She's also just snagged a role in the US TV version of The Firm, which takes up the story of the Tom Cruise legal mob drama 10 years after the events of the 1993 film, finding Mitchell McDeere (now played by Josh Lucas) emerging from the Witness Protection Program after bringing down his Memphis-based employers...The Hangover 2 Full Movie

On The Download: Taylor Swift Live At Staples Center
By Breanna HughesLOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Ive been looking forward to seeing Taylor Swift perform live since she first burst onto the scene with her self-titled debut album in 2006. Why I hadnt seen her in concert yet is something I just cant answer, but I am very happy to say that I no longer carry that shame with me. And after what I experienced, it was worth every anxious moment of waiting and every single penny. Taylor brought her Speak Now World Tour to the Staples Center in Los Angeles for a sold out, four-night engagement. Now, Ive been to a lot of concerts in my life from tiny clubs to huge sports arenas like this one, and I can honestly say, this is the biggest production I have ever seen for a concert. Elaborate sets, lights, fireworks, and dancers adorned the stage for the two-hour spectacle. It was utter pandemonium. Fans carried signs, sparkly lights, and wore specially made T-shirts. As Taylor welcomed the sold-out crowd of 13,500 (which was her estimate, but Im pretty sure it was much more than that), it was easy to see that she was very humbled and thankful for her legions of fans. It was also obvious how appreciative she was of her fans and loved the sound of thousands of people singing every lyric of every song. And to thank us, she gave us all a spectacular show. When the lights dimmed, the crowd went crazy waiting for her to make her appearance. Once the lights came up, we literally see the lights, see the party, the ball gowns and Taylor made her way through the crowd and opened with Sparks Fly. Once the opening number ended, the audience went from loud to deafening. It was nonstop cheering for several minutes as the country superstar just stood there taking it all in until moving onto her next song, Mine, during which she flashed her signature heart symbol with her hands, which prompted the entire audience to do the same. Taylors performance of The Story of Us was the first sign that we were in for a very entertaining night. The singer and her backup dancers put on a play for us, acting out the lyrics and dancing in unison on an ornate set. Taylor then simplified things when she donned a new outfit and brought out the banjo for Our Song (from her first album) and her current hit, Mean. Then she disappeared, before rising up onto the stage and sitting at a piano for Back to December, while surrounded by violin players lined up on a bridge behind her. Towards the end, as the music built up, she turned it into medley with OneRepublics song Apologize. After another quick change, Taylor had the crowd on their feet and dancing for Better Than Revenge. The stage then turned into a church wedding scene for her song Speak Now, where she interrupts a wedding to try and steal away the groom. It was a very cute number that had Taylor and her backup singers and dancers channeling The Shirelles and other girl groups of the past. With security guards in tow, she then charged through the audience to the floor seats and sat at a decorative rotating tree to get closer to the people who were further away from the stage. Armed with just her guitar, she serenaded us with her songs Fearless and Last Kiss before launching into some cover songs. I personally loved her rendition of God Only Knows by the Beach Boys. Then it was back to the stage for the crowd favorite, You Belong With Me. The previous night, Justin Bieber came out to perform his song Baby alongside Taylor. I was curious to see who her special guest for this evening would be. I jumped to my feet in excitement when I saw Jason Mraz rise up from underneath the stage for a duet of his song Im Yours. Taylor closed with the dramatic song, Haunted, from her current album, complete with daring acrobatics. Throughout the show, I couldnt help but notice how much her voice has grown in the last of couple years. It effortlessly filled the entire arena. I was so pleased to see how much she has improved vocally. Its clear that shes beginning to find her confidence. Im sure it helps to be traveling all over the world for this tour and shes definitely got stamina to spare. While watching her close-ups on the big screen next to the stage, I found her facial expressions to be simply priceless. She knew exactly how and when to ham it up for the audience. When it was time for her encore, Taylor had already been performing for nearly two hours. She seemed to outlast some of her fans. She came back out on stage for Fifteen and the song I was hoping shed end the show with: Love Story. I definitely wasnt disappointed. I was back on my feet and singing along as Taylor stepped onto a balcony attached to a cable and flew through the air, reaching all ends of the arena and giving every single fan a thrill. Taylor is touring across the country through November. The majority of her shows are completely sold out, but if you can get your hands on some tickets, you wont regret it. If you already have tickets, hold onto them as tight as you can and enjoy every moment of this incredible show starring a phenomenal young woman who just wants to tell you some stories about her life. Youll find yourself hanging on to every word. Copyright 2011 by NBC Universal, Inc. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.

See Taylor Lautner's 'Abduction' Stunts In New Video
Move over Tom Cruise and Matt Damon, because Taylor Lautner is coming to steal the title of Hollywood's resident action star. Mark Wahlberg already told Leonardo DiCaprio that the "Twilight Saga" star has put them out of a job, and it's about time that the Sylvester Stallones and Bruce Willis's of the world get the clue as well as a new action hero is born. Lautner's upcoming flick "Abduction" is looking like it's going to be the action movie for the new generation, and it's the 19-year-old's badass physicality that makes the film something to look forward to. "Taylor's not only a really fabulous actor, he's also a gifted athlete," "Abduction" costar Jason Isaacs said in a recently released featurette about the movie. "He could take the entire crew with his hands tied behind his back." Like he did in the "Twilight" movies, Lautner jumped on the opportunity to film his own stunts in "Abduction." The one sequence that has been shown over and over again in the flick's trailers and TV spots is when Lautner slides down a giant glass wall at a Pittsburgh Pirates game, and this featurette explained why: Lautner did that stunt himself. "It was actually made up on the fly. It was never in an original script," Lautner said. "It was fun. I was going fast. It was great." The behind-the-scenes video showed Lautner filming the scene, and from where we're sitting it looked like there were very few wires actually holding him in place. It makes sense that the ballsy stunt is at the center of the flick's marketing. There's not a lot of extra footage in the featurette from the film, but the new stuff all showcases just how badass Lautner looks in this movie. Fans might love Lautner because of his heartthrob role in the "Twilight" movies, but what we've seen of "Abduction" so far shows that he is all grown up and ready to kick ass this time around. Do you consider Taylor Lautner to be in the next generation of action stars? Tell us in the comments section below or on Twitter!

Steven Spielberg Wanted to Make the Movie of Renny Harlin's Dreams
“You know, after I had just done A Nightmare on Elm Street 4, one of the first people to call me was Steven Spielberg, and he asked me, ‘So is there a movie of your dreams you want to make?’ ‘Seriously?’ I said, ‘Tintin.’ So I gave him a pile of those books, and his company went after the rights. At that point, the creator was still alive, and he said absolutely not. So it didn’t work out, and Spielberg and I went our separate ways. Then, years later, the creator died, and Spielberg went after the rights again, and he got them. So now there’s a movie.” You crazy for this one, Renny Harlin. [Vulture]

More Avengers images posted online
A bunch of new images from the Cleveland shoot of Joss Whedon's Avengers movie have hit the net and if online speculation is right they could reveal the threat faced by the superteam. Forum chatter seems to point to the Skrulls as the most likely enemy, especially because of the alien-looking weapon seen in these images (top spot: the guy holding the weapon is wearing a Green Lantern T-shirt!).Motion-capture suits back up that theory.A wikipedia history lesson for those less schooled in the Marvel Universe: "Skrulls are green-skinned reptilian humanoids with large pointed ears, red or green eyes, and corrugated chins. The Skrulls are known for their physical malleability and ability to shapeshift to any size, shape, or color at will, taking on the appearance but not the characteristics of other beings and objects."The images were posted by fans on the Superhero Hype forums.

I'll even come to the studio while you're working and we can get together there." I ended up inviting Ali Sweeney [Sami] to join us because we have so many fond memories of working together. Ali started Tweeting that she was having lunch with us in the NBC commissary and that got internet rumors started that we were coming back to the show. And from there it just sort of took off.Muldoon: Well, that's not how I remember it. I didn't flake. And it wasn't dinner. We were supposed to have drinks and Christie's plane was late.Clark: See, this is why we work so well together. We're like a husband and wife!Muldoon: Also at that same lunch, Ali had Marnie Saitta, the Days casting director, come down and say hi to us.Clark: And the two of them asked Pat if he'd ever come back to daytime and it was the first time in 15 years that he said yes! I almost fell off my chair.Muldoon: And a couple of months later we got a call.TV Guide Magazine: In addition to currently starring on 53 different TV shows, Sweeney is now playing agent, too?Clark: She's good at that! She's quite the businesswoman these days.Muldoon: Ali definitely opened the door for this to happen. That girl had a plan!TV Guide Magazine: So, Pat, what finally made you give in?Muldoon: It was the perfect offer at the perfect time. I'd spent five or six years working with my band, The Sleeping Masses, and thought for sure we were going to be these giant rock stars. [Laughs] But we ended up singing in bars in London and selling like a total of three CDs. Finally I came to the realization that there are only so many 40-year-old rock sensations out there, know what I mean? And the movies I've been doing, although I'm grateful and happy for the work, were often science fiction and I got tired of flying off to wherever to kill space aliens. Just to be able to act again on a soap every day is a dream.TV Guide Magazine: Hey, don't be putting down Ice Spiders! It's a classic!Clark: Ooh, I don't know about that one, Pat. [Laughs] I'll have to put it on my Netflix queue!TV Guide Magazine: Is it surreal to be back together after all this time?Muldoon: Not really because I've stayed great friends with Christie all these years, even after she moved to San Francisco with her husband, Tom. There's nobody I'd rather jump back into soaps with.Clark: And Days has hardly changed. We're reporting to the same studio, walking down the same hallways. We're visiting all those same little places where we used to get into trouble when we were kids, like the prop room, though I can't say anything more about that. [They both laugh hysterically]TV Guide Magazine: How is it to adjust to the realities of time? You two were once the young ones on the show. Now kids who weren't even born back then are old enough to vote.Clark: But we still feel young at heart. And Pat still hasn't grown up.Muldoon: Now we're supposedly the adults but I notice that Christie and I keep gravitating to the kids on the show - Molly Burnett [Melanie], Chandler Massey [Will] and that whole bunch. On the set, we're hanging with them rather than the people our own age.Clark: [Laughs] They're probably, like, "Who are these old geezers trying to mix it up with us?" But we don't care.TV Guide Magazine: Do you have to explain to them who you are? Clark: No, we just sort of ignore their quizzical looks and get on with it.Muldoon: I'm too busy trying to figure out who Austin is! Since he and Carrie left the show, they moved to Switzerland and he became a businessman, so it's like Austin became an adult and I didn't! I've had to research everything that went on with the character after I stopped playing him and Austin Peck took over. Plus, I have a new mom. When I was on Days before, Kate was played by Deborah Adair and now it's Lauren Koslow. [Laughs] And, by the way, my new mom is sooo hot!TV Guide Magazine: In your heyday, the soaps had great success creating supercouples. Now they're increasingly rare. What happened to romance?Clark: I don't know, but it's sure not the same anymore. Maybe we're living life at too fast a pace these days.Muldoon: Maybe, but at the end of the day people still want connection. They want relationships with integrity. Carrie and Austin were your basic Romeo and Juliet story, and there's always an appetite for that kind of love. Christie and I were only together on screen for a couple of years but it was written so well that people still remember it and it made a strong enough impact that they wanted to bring us back together. I'm so grateful for that.Clark: The other day I was watching some scenes on YouTube from when I first started on Days and the show had all these lovely, uplifting romantic storylines, full of the simplest day-to-day stuff. It was about real people dealing with the real things in life and it was all so intriguing that I wanted to see more! The new writers are doing an excellent job of getting back to those kinds of storylines. And they're really nailing the characters again. Hope is sassy, John is clever, everyone is the way you remember them and loved them. Nobody's suddenly turning into a hooker. We're getting back to the foundation of the characters and what made them unique.TV Guide Magazine: Besides staying in touch with each other, have you remained tight with others in the cast?Muldoon: For me not so much, but being back it's like no time has passed at all. When I first saw Kristian Alfonso [Hope] in the makeup room, she looked at me and said, "Welcome home." I kinda lost it a little bit. It was very emotional.Clark: I've stayed friends with all my lovers on the show.Muldoon: Once you go to bed with Christie, you don't forget it!Clark: [Laughs] Yeah, and you wanna stick around!TV Guide Magazine: Speaking of sticking around, Carrie and Austin will return to Salem for the dedication of the new town square. What makes them drop everything in their lives and decide to stay there? Whatever it is, it must be huge.Muldoon: It is, but we can't talk about it yet! At first it's all about romance and family but soon the conflict and the drama begin in a huge way. Salem has a surprise for us that keeps us there.TV Guide Magazine: Christie, you've been living a normal life away from the chaos and craziness of show biz. Any qualms about returning?Clark: Not at all. I'd always dreamed that Days would ask me back. Now, one minute I'm taking care of kids and doing laundry and dealing with diapers, the next I'm flying down to L.A. and getting into hair and makeup and wardrobe and kissing a really cute guy. I'm going to do my damndest to make it all happen. Days has helped out so much by giving me a great schedule that makes juggling my real world and my fantasy world pretty workable. It's so workable I'm pinching myself.TV Guide Magazine: Soaps used to be hot and healthy. Now they're an endangered species. Discuss. Muldoon: It's a much greater challenge these days. Back then we weren't thinking about survival at all. Now we're making every minute count.Clark: So many people say, "I started watching Days with my mom and my grandma." It'd be nice if we could get back to that warm, fuzzy tradition where our fans are getting the next generation hooked. We have to make that happen.Muldoon: It's like being on a sports team. We're all, like, let's make our show the best! Let's make people want to watch us and cheer us on! We don't take anything for granted. It will require a real family effort to keep Days on TV but we're determined to make it happen. That's why this whole experience is so emotionally charged for Christie and me. We knew coming back to this gig would be special. We just didn't know how special.Subscribe to TV Guide Magazine now!
