Did DJ Ashba take the position of Slash in Guns n Roses?

So Slash, obviously, isn't with Guns n Roses anymore and now DJ Ashba
is part of them now. Has he sort of taken Slash's position.
Before you jump to conclusions; Slash is a fuking legend!! DJ could
never take his place not matter how talented he is, I'm simply asking
if Slash's role is now being taken by DJ.
